Abstract

PT Budi Tamora is a wood working company, located in Tanjung Morawa at Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, No.88. With the high quality products, the company can penetrate the international market. Through this research, the writer will analyze there is an effect or not of job motivation on employees’ performance at PT Budi Tamora. Job motivation is a process to encourage employee to work to achieve the company’s goals. Meanwhile, employee performance is the result of achievement that is carried out by employees in period of time. This research uses quantitative, descriptive, and causal method. The objects of this research are employees of PT Budi Tamora Permai. Total population is 412 people, and the sample is 203 people, through simple random sampling.From the calculation of Z test, it can be seen that the value of Zcount is higher than Ztable, which means there is an effect between job motivation and employees’ performance. Based on determination test, the coefficient of determination is 0.55. Based on the correlation test, the coefficient of correlation is 0.741, it shows the positive relationship. The recommendation of this research is company needs to make standards for healthy competition among employees, provide better facility, and rewards if they reach the target.
