Abstract
Salary is important for both employee and company. One of the reasons employee works in the company is the consideration of their pay or salary. As the company needs to have a proportional focus between the salary of their employees and their performance. The main objective of this research is to discover the impact of salary on employee performance in Ta Shanghai Restaurant Medan. Ta Shanghai Restaurant Medan is one of a well-known Chinese restaurant in town. This research is analyzed with quantitative research because there is limitation in the research problem. The data type being used in this research is the primary data in form of questionnaire which are designed and distributed to the employees of Ta Shanghai Restaurant Medan. The secondary data is from sources of journal and books.The data collected are analyzed using SPSS version 25. There are several analytical techniques used to analyze the data. Based on this research result, there is a positive impact between salary and employee performance in Ta Shanghai Restaurant. The level of percentage is 39.7% while the rest of 60.3% is affected by the other factors which is not examined in this research.
