Abstract
Alongside with the increasingly analogous goods and services within the international market nowadays, country of origin has been a deciding factor and a main identifier for consumers in discerning and perceiving both value and quality. However, as it remains a question of whether the idea affects perception of electrical panel at PT. Andalas Citra Elektrindo, this research aims to find it out. Country of origin refers to a situation when a country from which commodities originate from is recognized. It can be measured through economic development, reputation and authenticity. Perceived product quality is the perception formed by consumers as a response towards how a product is presented to them. This can be measured using price, familiarity and brand image. Research method used is quantitative method through questionnaire. It will be explained by using descriptive method and will be focused on causal relationship. Population is 110 people. Sample wil be taken 62 people using purposive sampling method. Z test finds that brand credibility does have influence on consumers’ perceived quality at PT. Andalas Citra Elektrindo. Determination test shows that 83.5% of perceived product quality is influenced by country of origin. Correlation test shows high correlation and positive relationship between variables. The recommendations given by this research is for the company to improve the way products are recommended towards consumer as well as to increase the information given to consumers regarding a products’ identifying feature and trademark as all of these will increase consumers’ awareness and assist them in forming a perception on quality.
