Hospitals in addition to looking for a cure can cause diseases that can come from health cares, other patients, or from visitors who visit. The disease is known as nosocomial infections. As an educator, nurses should provide proper education to patients and families regarding the prevention of nosocomial infections by hand washing, but sometimes this role is not done properly thus can add the factors to the infection to spread. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of nurses doing hand hygiene education in inpatient room fifth floor as a prevention of the infection to spread. The study is a descriptive quantitative. Using direct observation as a research method and observation checklist as an research’s instrument with total 30 respondents. The result of this study is 63,3% (n=19) nurses do the six steps hand hygiene education and 33,33% of mean do the five moments hand hygiene education to patients / Rumah sakit selain untuk mencari kesembuhan dapat menyebabkan penyakit yang dapat berasal dari tenaga kesehatan, pasien lain atau dari pengunjung yang berkunjung. Penyakit ini disebut dengan infeksi nosokomial. Sebagai seorang edukator perawat harus memberikan edukasi kepada pasien dan keluarga mengenai pencegahan infeksi nosokomial ini yaitu dengan cara mencuci tangan, namun terkadang peran ini tidak dilakukan dengan benar bahkan tidak dilakukan sehingga dapat menimbulkan faktor penyebaran infeksi nosokomial. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat gambaran pelaksanaan perawat di Ruang Rawat Inap lantai Lima melakukan edukasi cuci tangan sebagai pencegahan penyebaran infeksi. Penelitian merupakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan observasi langsung sebagai metode penelitian dan checklist lembaran observasi sebagai instrumen penelitian dengan jumlah respoden 30 orang. Hasil penelitian ini sebanyak 63,3% (n=19) perawat melakukan edukasi enam langkah cuci tangan dan rata-rata 33,33% melakukan edukasi lima momen cuci tangan.
