Abstract

Bagi peneliti selanjutnya disarankan untuk melakukan penelitian dengan metode yang berbeda seperti metode kualitatif / Malaria is one of the infection disease, that infect red blood cells of human because plasmodium parasites through female anopheles mosquito. Kementrian Kesehatan Republik Indonesia (Kemenkes) in 2019 noted that Papua province with the highest Annual Paracite Incidence (API), namely 52,99 per 1000 population. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship between demographic characteristics with malaria prevention behavior to residents of RT 11/ RW 03 Siriwini sub-distric, Nabire, Papua. This research is using quantitative research method with descriptive correlation design with cross sectional approach. The sampling technique that used is convenience sampling with involving 169 people as a sample. The instrument in this research used questionnaire that has been done the validation and releability test to 30 respondents. From the 15 questions, there are 10 valid questions with r score count > r table (0,361) and the scoring of α cronbach according to releability test is 0,779 > 0,7. Data analysis technic that used is univariate and bivariate analysis with chi square technique. The study was conducted in March-April 2021. The research results show that the malaria prevention behavior among residents is good, namely 110 (65,1%), there was a relationship between age, education, and occupation with malaria prevention behaviour, but there is no relationship between gender and malaria prevention behavior. For the future researchers, it is recommended to conduct research with different methods such as qualitative methods.
