Abstract

Teori dasar musik adakah salah satu pengetahuan yang harus dikuasai oleh seseorang dalam bermusik. Masalah yang sering terjadi pada siswa kelas Seni Budaya (Musik) peminatan alat musik keyboard adalah tingkat kemampuan dalam membaca dan membunyikan ritme serta membaca notasi balok yang umumnya masih rendah. Siswa kelas 8 DEF kelas alat musik peminatan keyboard juga mempunyai masalah dalam pengetahuan mereka tentang teori dasar musik, khususnya tentang membaca ritme dan notasi balok. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana cara meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam membaca ritme dan notasi balok dalam waktu singkat. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini terdiri dari tiga siklus. Dalam setiap siklus peneliti menggunakan teknik yang diambil dari metode pengajaran Kodály dan Suzuki. Instrumen penelitian yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi, rubrik, tes, dan wawancara siswa. Hasil dari penelitan tindakan kelas yang sudah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa teknik dari metode pengajaran Kodály dan Suzuki mampu membantu meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam membaca dan membunyikan ritme serta meningkatkan kemampuan membaca notasi balok. Siswa kelas 8 DEF kelas alat musik mengalami peningkatan kemampuan yang cukup signifikan dan merasa terbantu dalam belajar ritme dan notasi balok / The basic or elementary music theory is one of the knowledge that one should master in playing music. The most common thing, which occurs on students of Arts and Culture (Music) with keyboard musical instrument interest, is low level of understanding in reading and playing rhythm as well as reading notes in general. Students of Class 8 DEF with keyboard musical instrument interest also have issues on their knowledge regarding the basic music theory, especially on reading rhythm and notes. The purpose of this research is to finde out method to improve students’ understanding on reading rhythm and notes in short period of time. This research consists of three cycles. On each cycle researcher uses techniques derived from Kodály and Suzuki teaching method. Instruments used in this research are observation sheets, rubric, test, and students interview. The result of the action conducted in the class following this research shows that techniques derived from Kodály and Suzuki teaching method could help improve students understanding on reading and playing rhythm as well as improving understanding of reading notes. Students of class 8 DEF with keyboard musical interest experience quite significant understanding improvement and been helped on reading rhythm and notes
