Abstract

Patient identification is basic in a clinical process that needs to be done correctly to ensure patient safety (Australian Commision on Safety and Quality in Health Care, 2017). Compliance of nurses in performing procedures correctly in implementing patient identification is really needed to ensure patient safety. Proper patient’s identification would improve the quality of patient safety and will decrease misidentification in hospital. The purpose of this research was to describe the level of nurse’s compliance in implementing patient’s identification in the adult inpatient ward Siloam Hospitals Manado. The method of this research is a descriptive quantitative with observation approach. The population of this research is 62 nurses who is working in inpatient department. The sampling technique is sampling kuota and got 30 samples. Instrument of this research used observation checklist. The results of this study showed that there are 29 nurses (96,7%) who are compliance in implementing patient’s identification with an average achievement score of 83.13% / Identifikasi pasien merupakan hal dasar dalam sebuah proses klinis yang perlu dilakukan secara benar untuk menjamin keselamatan pasien(Australian Commision on Safety and Quality in Health Care, 2017). Kepatuhan perawat dalam melakukan prosedur dengan prinsip benar terhadap penerapan identifikasi pasien sangat dibutuhkan untuk menjamin keselamatan pasien. Ketepatan melakukan identifikasi pasien akan meningkatkan kualitas mutu keselamatan pasien dan mengurangi kejadian yang diakibatkan karena kesalahan identitas pasien di rumah sakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tingkat kepatuhan perawat terhadap penerapan identifikasi pasien di ruang rawat inap dewasa Siloam Hospitals Manado. Metode penelitian ini kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan observasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 62 perawat. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampling kuota sehingga didapatkan sebanyak 30 perawat di ruang rawat inap dewasa Siloam Hospitals Manado. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan checklist observasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis univariat. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa 29 perawat (96,7%) patuh dalam melakukan identifikasi pasien dengan rata-rata skor pencapaian 83,13%.
