Abstract

This research was conduct at Jade Restaurant Medan and the purpose of this research is to reveal whether there is any influence between training and service quality. Moreover, this research will also help other researchers to know and get more information’s about this field. Training focuses on services. It means that the management cares about the service quality and is willing to invest their money and time to boost the service quality of the employees and help them to improve in the area they were lacking. To get the data needed in this research, the writer is using convenience sampling and managed to obtain 80 samples that consist of 40 employees and 40 customers. Moreover, the writer uses Likert scale for the questionnaires and distributes them to the employees and customers.To find out whether training influences the service quality, the writer uses a quantitative method as the research design and IMB SPSS 25 application. Data used in this research are primary data and secondary data. Data analysis methods used in this research include validity test, reliability test, descriptive statics, normality test, linearity test, coefficient correlation Test, determination test, linear regressions and hypothesis (t-test). The result of coefficient of determinations is 80%, the result of coefficient correlations is 0.898 (strong and positive relation) and the result of the t-test is 6.12.6 > t-table(1.68595).As the conclusion, after the analysis and research on the restaurant, it has been proven that training influences service quality at Jade Restaurant Medan.
