Abstract

Modernisasi dan perkembangan peradaban manusia mendorong lajunya urbanisasi dan pengembangan kawasan-kawasan pendukung ekonomi. Hal ini menyebabkan bergesernya prioritas arsitektur, dimana terjadi pengorbanan aspek-aspek intrinsik arsitektur untuk memaksimalkan efisiensi, fungsionalitas, serta memanfaatkan teknologi modern tanpa menanggulangi dampak sampingnya. Hilangnya aspek-aspek ini menghasilkan arsitektur yang kehilangan karakteristik identitas serta memberi dampak buruk bagi alam. Arsitektur berkelanjutan atau Sustainable Architecture adalah teori atau metode arsitektur yang berusaha untuk meminimalisir dampak negatif pembangunan manusia terhadap alam, dengan cara meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan material, energi, dan lahan membangun. Riset ini mencoba untuk menanggapi fenomena tersebut melalui pembelajaran teori-teori arsitektur berkelanjutan dan karakteristik arsitektur vernakular, Karena di dalam arsitektur vernakular ditemukan kedua aspek yaitu identitas dan keberlanjutan sehingga dapat menjadi dasar pembentuk solusi akan permasalahan yang disebutkan tadi. Riset ini lalu melihat kedua aspek tersebut melalui melalui bentuk, metode konstruksi, dan material yang diterapkan pada setiap elemen bangunan. Hasil rancangan berdasarkan penggabungan antara rancangan awal pengembang serta potensial tapak yang didapat melalui analisis konteks yang lalu dikembangkan melalui dasar strategi desain hasil penelitian diterapkan oleh penulis di kawasan komersial Ciputraland Makassar. Hasil perancangan penelitian ini adalah sebuah kawasan retail dan co-working atau yang penulis sebut lifestyle center (dimana terjadi aktivitas produktif dan konsumerisme) yang mengelilingi sebuah koridor hijau yang menghubungkan bangunan-bangunan dan node sekitar tapak. / The advancement of human civilization and society promotes the growth of urbanization and districts of economy. This phenomenom causes a shift of priority in architecture where intrinsic aspects of architecture are being sacrificed to optimize efficiency, functionality, while being completely dependent of convenient modern technology without considering the consequences. The loss of these intrinsic aspects results in an architecture without identity, which negatively affects nature as well. Sustainable architecture are a group of theories or methods that attempts minimalize these negative consequences to nature through optimizing the use of building materials, energy, and land-use. This research will attempt to respond the afromentioned phenomenon through the study and analysis of sustainable architecture methods and vernacular architecture. Because vernacular architecture as a form of centuries of human adaptation to their surroundings, have the aspects of sustainability and identity within them. Thus, vernacular architecture will be the basis of this research going forward. In which the researcher will analyze those two aspects through the forms, construction method, and materials being used for each building element. The result of this research will be a design strategy that will be used on a commercial site in Ciputraland Makassar. The result of this research and design process is a retail-coworking area or a lifestyle center (where productive and consumptive activities occur) surrounding a green corridor that connects the buildings and nodes around the site.
