Abstract

Film merupakan gambar, skenario dan aktor yang membentuk alur cerita menarik dan fenomena di kehidupan sehari-hari. Konsep ini berhubungan pada film Joker (2019) yang bergenre drama, thriller, dan crime dengan durasi 122 menit. Film ini menceritakan seorang yang gagal menjadi komedian akibat dari pengalaman kehidupan tak menyenangkan & mengalami penyakit mental, sehingga karakternya berubah menjadi jahat. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce sebagai metode analisis data. Hasil penelitian ini terdapat 28 scene yang mengandung 48 adegan kekerasan fisik, 10 kekerasan seksual, 143 kekerasan psikologis serta 12 kekerasan simbolik yang berkaitan dengan vandalisme. Peneliti menghubungkan dengan teori interaksi simbolik yang terdiri dari sisi “I” dan “me” beserta generalized other. Representasi adalah konsep pikiran seseorang yang memaknai tanda dari orang, kejadian, atau imajinasi. Representasi kekerasan dalam film Joker (2019) menjelaskan tokoh utama mengalami pengalaman tak bahagia karena diperlakukan kekerasan dari keluarga, teman, pacar, rekan kerja, dan orang lain. Kekerasan psikologis paling banyak muncul dalam film Joker (2019) karena tokoh utama merasa diasingkan, diabaikan, dihina orang lain dan diperlakukan seperti sampah. = Films are pictures, scenarios and actors that create interesting storylines and phenomena in everyday life. This concept relates to the Joker movie (2019) which is a drama, thriller, and crime genre with a duration of 122 minutes. This film tells a man who failed to become a comedian because of an unpleasant life experience & suffered a mental illness, so his character turned into a bad guy. Researchers used qualitative research methods and Charles Sanders Peirce semiotics as data analysis methods. The results contained 28 scenes containing 48 scenes of physical violence, 10 sexual violence, 143 psychological violence and 12 symbolic violence related to vandalism. The researcher connects theory symbolic interaction which consists of the "I" and "me" also the generalized other. Representation is the concept of a person's mind that interprets signs from people, events, or imaginations. The representation of violence in Joker movie (2019) explains that the main character had an unhappy experience because he is treated with violence from family, friends, girlfriends, co-workers, and other people. Psychological violence appears the most in Joker movie (2019) because the main character feels alienated, ignored, insulted by others and treated like trash.
