Background: Collaboration is cooperation, sharing of tasks, equality, responsibility and accountability. Obstacles in implementing collaborative work in hospitals are a major cause of medical errors, nursing errors and other unexpected events. The attitude of health workers towards collaboration can be an obstacle or support for the successful implementation of collaborative practices, because attitude is a view to reacting to something. Based on observations and interviews with several nurses, they only did doctor's instructions because they didn't want to argue with doctors. Objective: This study aims to identify the description of nurses' attitudes in collaborating with doctors in a private hospital in western Indonesia. Method: This research method is quantitative descriptive with a total sampling technique with a total sample of 53 nurses. The study was conducted from April to June 2020. The instrument used was a questionnaire taken and translated from The Jefferson Scale of Attitudes Toward Physician-Nurse Collaboration. Previously, the researcher conducted validity and reliability (VR) tests on 30 nurses convertion class (CC) for the class of 2019 and 2020 and the results were 13 valid questions with Cronbach alpha 0.879. Data analysis technique used univariate analysis. Results: As many as 54.7% of respondents showed a negative attitude in collaboration with doctors. Recommendation: Researchers expect nurses to have a positive attitude in collaboration with doctors so that the benefits of collaboration can be achieved. Future studies are expected to be able to analyze other factors that influence nurses' attitudes in collaboration with doctors and can conduct attitude research using other research methods.
