Abstract

Mahasiswa tahun pertama baru saja mengalami transisi peran dari siswa menjadi mahasiswa yang dapat menimbulkan stres bagi diri mereka. Adanya pemberlakuan PJJ menambah stres pada mahasiswa, karena memunculkan lebih banyak kesulitan untuk mahasiswa tahun pertama, sehingga mahasiswa perlu memiliki kemampuan untuk mengurangi dan meminimalisir dampak dari stres tersebut. Ketangguhan dilihat sebagai salah satu kepribadian yang berfungsi untuk membantu individu menghadapi tekanan dan stresHal tersebut berkaitan dengan perceived social support yang dimiliki mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh perceived social support terhadap ketangguhan mahasiswa tahun pertama Universitas Pelita Harapan yang menjalani pembelajaran jarak jauh. Partisipan yang menjadi subjek penelitian ini adalah 175 mahasiswa aktif Universitas Pelita Harapan. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kuantitatif dan menggunakan alat ukur Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support dan Skala Ketangguhan. Hasil hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara perceived social support dan ketangguhan, dikarenakan data tidak memenuhi syarat untuk melakukan uji regresi. Namun, ditemukan adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara perceived social support dengan ketangguhan. Hubungan tersebut bersifat positif signifikan dengan tingkat korelasi sebesar r= .280. / The freshmen student overcome the transition role from high school student to college student that evoke stress for them. The long distance learning also giving a stress because evoke much stress, therefore the freshman student need a capability to reduce the effect of it. Hardiness can be seen as one of human personality that help individual overcome stress. This is related with freshman students’ perceived social support. That’s why purpose of this research is the regression of perceived social support to hardiness in UPH freshman student who doing long distance learning. The participants of this research is 175 UPH student. This is quantitative research, use Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support dan Skala Ketangguhan measurement. The result shows that there is no regression between perceived social support and hardiness because the data unqualified, but there is significant correlation between them. The positive and significant correlation with the level correlation as much r=.280.
