Background: Cancer is a series of diseases that occur because cells will normally multiply and die regularly and grow up out of control. The data from Kemenkes (2016), In Indonesia, cancer has a prevalence of 1.4% (347,792 people), and breast cancer has a prevalence of 0.5%. Researchers found as many as 20 students who had a history of breast tumor surgery in the range from 2017 to 2020 years. For women can do early detection one of which is breast selfawareness (BSE). BSE is an early detection that can be done regularly starting from the age of 20 years. Research Objective: To know the description of female student’s knowledge about BSE in detect breast cancer at a Private University in Western Indonesia. Research Methods: Research used quantitative descriptive methods. The samples on this research totalled 166 female students, taken used purposive sampling technique. The instrument in this study used was a questionnaire. Technique of data analysis used was univariate analysis. This research conducted on March - May 2020. Results: Research shows that, 158 respondents had good knowledge with a percentage of 95.2% and 8 respondents had sufficient knowledge with a percentage of 4.8%, and none of the respondents had less knowledge. Recommendation: For future researchers, it is agreed to be able to discuss more about the relationship of factors that influence knowledge about BSE and skills in doing BSE.
