Abstract
Background: Dysmenorrhoea is pain in the abdomen or hips and can cause disrupted activities such as learning activities in college students and requires treatment. Knowledge of dysmenorrhoea management is needed to make the right decision, it can influence student’s attitude in responding negative symptoms of dysmenorrhoea such as difficult to concentrating. Early survey by researchers to 21 female students about management of dysmenorrhea obtained that most students only did rest when dysmenorrhoea occurred. Aim: Overviewed the level of nursing students knowledge in non-pharmacological dysmenorrhea management in one Private University in West Indonesia. Research methods: This research used quantitative methods, with descriptive analytical research. Sample of research were 244 people by purposive sampling method. Questionairre as the instrument of this research used google form application and has been validated first. Data analysis technique used univariate analysis. This research has been conducted in May 1st – 3rd, 2020. Results: The level of knowledge of nursing students at a west university in non-pharmacological management of dysmenorrhoea mostly had a good level of knowledge of 125 respondents (51.2%), followed by sufficient knowledge of 104 respondents (42.6%), and lack of knowledge by 15 respondents (6.1%). Suggestions: For further researchers can develop this research by examining correlational level of knowledge with the application of non-pharmacological dysmenorrhoea management.
