Video musik merupakan film atau video pendek yang diproduksi untuk mendampingi alunan musik. Video musik sendiri bertujuan untuk mempromosikan artis dan lagu yang dirilisnya. Girlband asal Korea Selatan, Red Velvet, setelah merilis lagu Bad Boy mendapatkan apresiasi besar karena lagunya yang digemari dan video musiknya yang segar, mencoba konsep yang belum pernah dicoba oleh grup tersebut sebelumnya. Lagu Bad Boy diketahui menceritakan hubungan antara perempuan angkuh dan laki-laki jahat. Uniknya walaupun berjudul Bad Boy, video musiknya tidak menampilkan laki-laki, melainkan menyorot kelima anggota Red Velvet yang bermain peran. Pada penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskripsi dengan memakai analisis semiotika milik Charles Sanders Peirce. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis seperti apakah hubungan mil-dang direpresentasikan dalam video musik Bad Boy. Peneliti akhirnya menemukan bahwa dalam dalam video ini Red Velvet menampilkan diri mereka sebagai pemegang kendali dalam suatu hubungan antara pria dan wanita. Red Velvet juga menunjukkan bahwa feminitas pada perempuan tidaklah terbatas. Perempuan bisa memegang kendali dan memiliki sisi maskulinitas dalam dirinya yang ditampilkan dalam video musik ini. / Music video is a short films or videos produced to accompany the music. Music video itself aims to promote the artist and the song that they released. The South Korean girl group, Red Velvet, after releasing the song Bad Boy, received great appreciation for its popular song and the fresh music video, trying a new concept that the group never tried before. The song bad boy is known to tell a story about a haughty girl and bad guys. What makes it unique is even though it's titled Bad Boy, the music video does not feature boys at all, but instead highlights the five Red Velvet members who play the roles. In this study, the researcher used descriptive qualitative research methods using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics analysis. The purpose of this study is to analyze how mil-dang in relationship is represented in Bad Boy music video. Researchers finally found that in this video Red Velvet presents themselves as the controller in a relationshop between a man and a woman. Red Velvet also shows that femininity in women is not limited. Women can be in control and have a masculinity in themselves that is shown in this music video.
