Background: hypertension or perhaps also called high blood pressure. The number of hypertensive diseases increases over the years. Hypertension accounts for the third highest number of deaths in Indonesia, with 27.1%. Purpose of research: the study was conducted to analyze perceived risk factors for hypertension at an adult age in the church ward of BNKP lasara idanoi, nias district. Research method: quantitative method with a design for sectional. The research tools used are an online questionnaire using a proposive sampling technique, which is from 100 populations in getting 80 samples taken using the slovin formula. The data analysis used is univariates and bivariates. Bivariate analysis using a statistic chi-square. Results: research from this study suggest that the gender frequency is the most high in men (60%), the respondents who have the genetic factor of hypertension (56.3%), the most obese LMT category (56.3%), those who do not have the habit of smoking (53.8%) and the physical activity of those who do not exercise regularly are (72%). According to a statistical test, there are significant links between genetics and the incidence of hypertension (p= 0.006), obesity with hypertension (p= 0.021) and smoking habits with hypertension (p= 0.002) and no significant connections between gender (p= 0.084) and physical activity (p= 0.084) with blood pressure. Recommendations: It is recommended to the public to maintain and regulate eating patterns, not smoking, actively exercising regularly, to prevent the occurrence of hypertension.
