Background: Clinical practice is an inseparable part of the nursing education program which aims to produce competent nurses. When conducting clinical practice, each student has different readiness so that it can have both positive and negative impacts. Professional students at the Faculty of Nursing at Pelita Harapan University (UPH) must be involved in clinical practice to get a Nurse degree (Ns). The clinical practice consists of 11 stations for nine months. Although these professional students have graduated academically, each student has the readiness and experience that can be different in carrying out his profession. The difference in the readiness response could be related to various characteristics of students. Aim: To explain the relationship between characteristics and readiness of students who are undergoing professional programs at the Faculty of Nursing at Pelita Harapan University while undertaking clinical practice. Method: This study applies a correlational quantitative method with a population of 459 nursing profession students, and the number of samples of 235 UPH nursing profession students using accidental sampling method. The number of respondents who participated in this study were 115 (response rate 48,93%) UPH nursing profession students. Casey-Fink Readiness for Practice Survey will be used in this study and all data obtained will be analyzed using bivariate analysis. Results: This study shows that there is no significant relationship between the characteristics and readiness of UPH nursing profession students in clinical practice. Recommendation: Nursing student educators are expected to be good facilitators so that each nursing student with a variety of different characteristics can achieve good readiness in undergoing clinical practice.
