Abstract

Latar Belakang. Epilepsi sering terjadi pada masyarakat di seluruh dunia. Penyakit ini diderita oleh 50 juta orang di seluruh dunia dan merupakan 1% bagian dari penyakit yang diderita oleh umat manusia secara keseluruhan. Studi yang dilaksanakan di Univesitas Calabar terhadap 79 mahasiswa tingkat akhir, hanya 27% dari total responden yang memiliki pemahaman dan pengetahuan yang cukup mengenai epilepsi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh tingkat studi dengan pengetahuan epilepsi mahasiswa FK UPH Metode Penelitian, merupakan penelitian analitik numerik observasional. Kuisioner terdiri dari 9 pertanyaan dengan jawaban Yes/No/Don’t Know dimana jawaban benar akan diberi poin 1 sementara jawaban yang salah atau Don’t know diberi poin 0. Sampel sebanyak 34 mahasiswa FK UPH diambil menggunakan teknik random sampling dan dibagi atas 17 mahasiswa angkatan 2018 dan 17 mahasiswa angkatan 2020. Data ditabulasi menggunakan Microsoft Excel dan diolah menggunakan SPSS 22. Data mean dan standar deviasi dari tiap kelompok dianalisis menggunakan uji T untuk melihat hubungan antar variable dengan derajat kepercayaan 95% (p<0.05). Hasil dan Pembahasan, hasil menunjukan rata-rata dari jawaban responden, dimana mahasiswa Angkatan 2018 7,59±1,176 sementara mahasiswa Angkatan 2020 5,35±2,234. Hasil Uji t test menghasilkan nilai p=0,001 menunjukan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antar tingkat studi mahasiswa dengan pengetahuan epilepsi. Kesimpulan, terdapat hubungan antara tingkat studi dengan pengetahuan epilepsi mahasiswa FK UPH. / Background. Epilepsy often occur among people all over the world. This illness strikes over 50 million people all over the world and is contributing 1% to every disease that has occurred to mankind as a whole. Previous studies held in Calabar University in which 79 senior year medical students participated, only 27% among them have enough understanding and knowledge about epilepsy. Aim This study aims to know whether the student’s generations affects their knowledge of epilepsy in Faculty of Medicine University of Pelita Harapan. Method, this study is an observational analitylc numeric study. Quetionnaire includes 9 questions with Yes/No/Don’t Know as an answer, where correct answer receives 1 point and wrong or Don’t know the participant receive 0 point. Sample size consist of 34 Faculty of Medicine student and divided 17 2018 students (third year) and 17 2020 students (first year). The data obtained will be tabulated in Microsoft Excel and processed usin SPSS 24. Mean and standard deviation of each group is analyzed with t-test to find the significance between variables with confidence interval of 95%(p<0,05). Result, Result shows the mean of participants answer, where 2018 students 7,59±1,176 and 2020 students 5,35±2,234. T-test result in p value of 0,001 showing that there is significant relation between student’s generation and knowledge about epilepsy. Conclusion. There is correlation between student’s generation and knowledge about epilepsy of Faculty of Medicine University of Pelita Harapan student.
