Abstract
The spread of the 2019 Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) outbreak is an unprecedented situation that gives concerned both in terms of health and also in the world of education especially with the disruption of the learning process for medical students worldwide, including in Indonesia. Students are required to adapt to online learning in order to ensure the continuation of the learning process during Covid-19 pandemic since most of the subjects are practical.
Aims and Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the problem of online learning in medical students during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Methods: This study is a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted by distributing an online questionnaire designed based on a 5 point-Likert scale. The data will be analysed using SPSS 23.0 and tested using the Chi-Square and logistic regression. The data is significant if the p value <0,05.
Results: The results shows that amongst 553 medical students, there are 26,2% males and 73.8% females, most of whom live in Java Island with 79,9% implementing the area restriction regulations. Approximately 75,8% of students have the perception of online learning as a disruption of the learning process. However, students have the perception that 70,9% of students had good preparation, 82,3% of teachers had good preparation, 80,8% of universities had good preparation and 83% had rational learning assignments. Based on the learning success criteria, about 64,7% of students can be categorized to have successful learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Conclusion: Students have the perception that online learning is a disruption to the learning process, but the adjustments made by students, teachers and universities are well prepared in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic which results in successful learning.
