Beragamnya media semakin bervariatif untuk dijadikan hiburan yang dapat dikonsumsi masyarakat, dimana salah satu bentuknya adalah film. Film Fifty Shades of Grey yang dikenal juga sebagai film erotis atau BSDM, memiliki ketenaran akibat dari adegan vulgar yang diperlihatkan. Penelitian ini meneliti 9 informan khusus perempuan di Indonesia maupun diluar Indonesia (Australia, Russia, dan Korea), dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan wawancara mendalam. Menggunakan teori dan konsep encoding-decoding model, film BDSM ini memberikan penerimaan positif dan negatif kepada khalayak perempuan. Latar belakang ekonomi, budaya, dan sosial, yang dialami oleh para khalayak juga mempengaruhi penerimaannya terhadap film yang mengandung kekerasan seksual tersebut. Dari adanya objektifikasi hingga kesenangan tersendiri dalam menonton film tercakup sesuai dengan posisi khalayak dalam menonton film Fifty Shades of Grey. / The variety of media is increasingly varied to be used as entertainment that can be enjoyed by the public, where one of the forms is film. The film Fifty Shades of Grey, also known as erotic films or BSDM, has gained its popularity due to the vulgar scenes that are shown on the film. This study examined 9 women-specific informants in Indonesia and outside Indonesia (Australia, Russia, and Korea), using a qualitative approach and in-depth interviews. Using the theory and concept of encoding-decoding model, this BDSM film gives positive and negative reception to female audiences. The economic, cultural, and social background experienced by the audience also affects their recepetion of the film that contains sexual violence. The ideas come from the existence of objectification until to the pleasure of watching the film, that is covered according to the position of the audience in watching the film Fifty Shades of Grey.
