Abstract

The fact which is facing in the third grade of elementary school XYZ based on interviews conducted to the teachers who taught in the third grade of elementary school XYZ, which found that students haven't been able to allocate time, selecting strategies, monitor success or failure, and evaluate final results of work and problem solving so that the results obtained do not correspond with the correct answer. This research aims to analyze the difference in Metacognition awareness, the ability to solve problems, and cognitive learning outcomes of students using QFT. This research method using the quantitative research experiments, designed by using Yellow Class as the control group which had 21 students and White Class as the experiment which had 24 students. The instruments used for the consciousness of Metacognition using questionnaires, Jr. MAI, for problem-solving ability and cognitive learning results using essay test. Verification results will be obtained by comparing the results of a pretest and postest of control class and experimental class. This study presents the results of the descriptive analysis of data, inferensial data, and Ngain. SPSS is used to calculate all datas in this research. The results of this research show that: 1) there is no difference Ngain in Metacognition awareness before and after using the technique of QFT, 2) there is a difference Ngain in solving problems before and after using the technique of QFT, 3)there is no difference Ngain in cognitive learning results before and after using the technique of QFT. / Fakta yang ada di kelas tiga Sekolah Dasar XYZ berdasarkan wawancara yang dilakukan kepada guru – guru yang mengajar di kelas tiga Sekolah Dasar XYZ, bahwa siswa belum mampu mengalokasikan waktu, memilih strategi, memantau keberhasilan atau kegagalan, dan mengevaluasi hasil akhir pengerjaan tugas dan pemecahan masalah sehingga hasil yang diperoleh tidak sesuai dengan jawaban yang sebenarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan kesadaran metakognitif, kemampuan memecahkan masalah, dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa menggunakan teknik QFT. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif eksperimen, yang dirancang dengan menggunakan Kelas Tiga Kuning sebagai kelompok kontrol sebanyak 21 siswa dan Kelas Tiga Putih sebagai kelompok eksperimen sebanyak 24 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk kesadaran metakognitif yaitu menggunakan kuesioner Jr. MAI, untuk kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan hasil belajar kognitif menggunakan tes esei.Verifikasi hasilnya akan diperoleh dengan membandingkan hasil pretest dan postest pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Penelitian ini menyajikan hasil analisis data deskriptif, data inferensial, dan perhitungan Ngain dengan menggunakan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Tidak ada perbedaan Ngain kesadaran metakognitif sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan teknik QFT, 2) Ada perbedaan Ngain memecahkan masalah dalam bentuk teks bacaan sebelum dan sesudah menggunaakan teknik QFT, 3) Tidak ada perbedaan Ngain hasil belajar kognitif sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan teknik QFT.
