Abstract
Permasalahan yang terjadi dengan siswa kelas 5.1 pada pelajaran IPA adalah kurangnya social skills, motivasi, dan hasil belajar siswa. Peneliti mencoba mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe STAD. Tujuan dari penelitian yang dilakukan adalah untuk mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah perbaikan dengan menggunakan model cooperative learning tipe STAD, menganalisis perkembangan social skills, motivasi, dan hasil belajar siswa, serta mengidentifikasi kendala-kendala selama proses pelaksanaan tindakan dan cara mengatasinya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam 3 siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari empat langkah yaitu: perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data diambil di akhir setiap siklus dengan menggunakan lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, dan tes tertulis. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tindakan perbaikan yang dilakukan sesuai dengan langkah-langkah cooperative learning tipe STAD; social skills, motivasi, dan hasil belajar siswa mengalami perkembangan atau peningkatan sesuai dengan kriteria keberhasilan yaitu di atas 71% siswa mencapai kriteria baik dan baik sekali. Kendala-kendala yang dihadapi pada saat pelaksanaan tindakan adalah keterbatasan waktu dan suasana kelas yang kurang kondusif. Hal ini dapat diatasi oleh guru dengan berfokus pada materi yang penting, aktif memantau proses diskusi, dan memotivasi siswa untuk terlibat aktif / The problems faced by the students in class 5.1 in Science lesson were the students’ lack of social skills, motivation, and learning outcomes. The researcher tried to solve the problems by implementing cooperative learning type STAD. The purposes of the research were to describe the cooperative learning type STAD steps, to analize the development of students’ social skills, motivation, learning outcomes, and to identify the problems faced by the reseacher during the implementation and how to solve them. The research was done by using classroom action research method which is done in 3 cycles. Each cycle consisted of four steps, they were: planning, implementing, observasion, and reflection. The data was taken at the end of each cycle by using observation sheet, field notes, and written test, the data was analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method. The result showed that the implementation of cooperative learning type STAD was done according to the steps; students’ social skills, motivation, and learning outcomes were improved because there were more than 71% students reached good and very good criteria. The problem faced during the implementation were the time limitation and unconducive classroom climate. The problems could be solved by focusing on the most important material, controlling the discussion process, and motivating the students to involve actively
