Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by increased blood glucose levels that cause multi-organ damage. The most common complication experienced by patients with type 2 DM is peripheral neuropathy which can result in diabetic foot ulcers, leg amputations, patients’ retreatment to the hospital, and even death. Foot care is a very important management and it is recommended to reduce the risk of diabetic foot ulcers. Nurse knowledge has an important role to educate patients about foot care to prevent diabetic foot ulcers. Objectives: To find out nurses’ knowledge on foot care components in DM type 2 patients. Methods: This study used a literature review. Searching the articles used databases such as OneSearch, Google Scholar, and PubMed. From a total of 28,327 articles obtained and then selected using the PRISMA Flow Diagram, 7 articles were found that fit the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis uses the simplified approach method. Results: From the seven articles, themes of nurses’ knowledge about diabetic foot care components were obtained: diabetic foot examination, foot skincare, foot nail care, proper footwear, exercise, and consultation to health services. Recommendation: Future researchers are expected to conduct research on nurses' knowledge about diabetic foot exercises towards the prevention of diabetic foot ulcers.
