Abstract
Diabetes melitus merupakan suatu penyakit yang ditandai dengan penurunan sekresi atau resistensi insulin karena kelainan metabolik yang menyebabkan naiknya kadar glukosa darah atau hiperglikemia. Berdasarkan etnofarmakologi dimana daun Mimba (A. indica J) dipercaya masyarakat dapat menangani penyakit diabetes melitus karena memiliki kandungan senyawa flavonoid. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa yang terdapat pada daun Mimba serta dosis yang efektif dari ekstrak daun Mimba sebagai antihiperglikemik pada hewan uji yaitu mencit. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pembuatan ekstrak, uji skrining fitokimia, uji antihiperglikemik dengan menggunakan 20 ekor mencit yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok yang diinduksi larutan glukosa 5%, dan analisis data dengan SPSS (Statistical Product and Service). Hasil dari pengujian yang dilakukan, diperoleh 50,7% ekstrak etanol daun Mimba, mengandung senyawa metabolis sekunder alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tannin, fenol, dan steroid. Ekstrak etanol 70% daun Mimba memiliki efektivitas dalam menurunkan kadar glukosa darah mencit pada dosis 500 mg/gramBB mencit. / Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by a decrease in insulin secretion or resistance due to a metabolic disorder that causes an increase in blood glucose levels or hyperglycemia. Based on ethnopharmacology where neem leaves (A. indica J) are trusted by the public to treat diabetes mellitus because they contain flavonoid compounds. The purpose of this study was to determine the content of compounds contained in neem leaves and the effective dose of neem leaf extract as anti-hyperglycemic in test animals, namely mice. The research was conducted by making extracts, phytochemical screening test, antihyperglycemic test using 20 mice which were divided into 5 groups induced by 5% glucose solution, and data analysis using SPSS (Statistical Product and Service). The results of the tests carried out, obtained 50.7% ethanolic extract of neem leaves, containing secondary metabolites of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, phenols, and steroids. The 70% ethanol extract of neem leaves was effective in reducing blood glucose levels in mice at a dose of 500 mg/gram BW in mice.
