Abstract

Antioksidan merupakan senyawa kimia yang dapat menghambat pembentukan radikal bebas yang dapat diperoleh dalam bentuk sintetik ataupun alami. Beberapa peneliti menyatakan bahwa bagian dari tanaman cempedak seperti kulit batang dan kulit buah memiliki aktivitas sebagai antioksidan, oleh karena itu penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji aktivitas antioksidan terhadap bagian daun dari tumbuhan cempedak (Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr.) dengan metode DPPH dan vitamin C sebagai pembanding. Simplisia daun cempedak di maserasi dengan etanol absolut kemudian dipekatkan dengan rotary vacuum evaporator, dan dilakukan penapisan fitokimia. Rendemen yang diperoleh dari ekstrak adalah 5,66%, dengan senyawa flavonoid, tannin, steroid, dan fenol yang terkandung di dalamnya. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah vitamin C memiliki sifat antioksidan yang lebih kuat dibandingkan dengan ekstrak etanol daun cempedak. Vitamin C dengan nilai IC50 (13,4 ppm) dan AAI (6,6) adalah antioksidan sangat kuat. Nilai IC50 ekstrak etanol daun cempedak (79,8 ppm) dan AAI (1,13) adalah antioksidan kuat. / Antioxidants are chemical compounds that can inhibit the formation of free radicals that can be obtained in synthetic or natural forms. Researchers state that parts of cempedak plant such as bark and fruit peels have antioxidant activity, and this study was conducted to testing the antioxidant activity of cempedak plant (Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr.) by the DPPH methodand vitamin C as a comparison. Cemmpedak leaf simplicia was macerated with ethanol absolute then concentrated with a rotary vacuum evaporator, and phytochemical screening was carried out. The yield obtained from extract was 5,66%, with flavonoid, tannin, steroid, and fenol. The results obtained are that vitamin C has stronger properties than extract ethanol of cempedak leaves. Vitamin C with IC50 values (13,4 ppm) and AAI (6,6) is a very strong antioxidant. The IC50 value of extract ethanol of cempedak leaves (79,8 ppm) and AAI (1,13) is a strong antioxidant. This study aimed to find out antioxidant activity of cempedak leaves ethanol extract (Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr.) with the DPPH method.
