Abstract

Dalam studi kasus 'X' sekolah menengah internasional, tingkat motivasi siswa diukur dengan menggunakan tes motivasi siswa guru penutur asli Bahasa Inggris dan guru non penutur asli Bahasa Inggris, uji self-efficacy untuk mengukur self-efficacy guru dan tes kedekatan untuk tingkat kedekatan guru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat perbedaan antara NEST dan non- NEST. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan sengaja untuk penelitian deskriptif-komparatif. Untuk mengumpulkan data, kuesioner digunakan sebagai instrumen, pertama didistribusikan ke sekolah yang berbeda untuk memeriksa validitas dan reliabilitasnya, kemudian didistribusikan ke 196 siswa, 5 dan 3 NEST non-NEST di sekolah menengah kedua 'X'. Menggunakan Mann- Whitney untuk menghitung hasil nilai motivasi p siswa adalah 0,001 <0,05. Nilai self-efficacy p guru adalah 0,025> 0,05 dan nilai kedekatan adalah 0,000> 0,05 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam motivasi siswa, self- efficacy guru, dan bagaimana siswa memandang secara langsung kedekatan guru mereka antara NEST dan non-NEST groups / In a case study of ‗X‘ secondary international school, students‘ motivation level were measured using the NEST and non-NEST students‘ motivation questionnaire, a self-efficacy test to measure teachers‘ self-efficacy and an immediacy test for teachers‘ immediacy level. The purpose of this research study was to discover levels of difference between NEST and non-NEST. This research study used a quantitative approach purposely for descriptive-comparative research. To gather data, questionnaires were used as an instrument, firstly distributed to different schools to check the validity and reliability of it, then distributed to 196 students, 5 NESTS and 3 non-NESTS in ‗X‘ secondary international school. Using Mann-Whitney to calculate the results for students‘ motivation p value is 0.001 < 0.05. Teachers‘ self-efficacy p value is 0.025 < 0.05 and immediacy p value was 0.000 < 0.05 meaning there is a significant difference in students‘s motivation, teachers‘ self-efficacy, and how the students perceive their teachers‘ immediacy between the NEST and non-NEST groups
