Latar belakang: Akne Vulgaris (AV) termasuk dalam penyakit inflamasi yang terjadi pada kelenjar sebasea dan menimbulkan AV. Banyak faktor dapat mempengaruhi AV, termasuk salah satunya stres. Mahasiswa kedokteran memiliki tingkat stres tinggi dikarenakan stres akademik. Sehingga, peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti pengaruh dari tingkat stres terhadap tingkat keparahan AV pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Tujuan: Melihat hubungan antara tingkat stres dengan tingkat keparahan AV pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Metodologi: Penelitian ini menggunakan studi cross sectional (potong lintang) dengan teknik consecutive sampling untuk mengambil sampel dari mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan Maret-Juni 2021 dengan pengisian kuesioner PSS (Perceived Stress Scale) untuk mengukur tingkat stres, serta IGA (Investigator’s Global Assessment) dan visia IGA untuk mendiagnosis Akne Vulgaris. Analisis data menggunakan tes Chi-square dengan program SPSS 28.0. Hasil Penelitian: Pada penelitian ini, tingkat keparahan AV yang paling banyak adalah AV berat (31.5%), dan tingkat stress yang paling banyak adalah stres sedang (83.1%). Sehingga, terdapat hubungan antara tingkat stres dengan tingkat keparahan AV (p-value: 0.012, Odds Ratio: 9.659). Simpulan: Semakin tinggi tingkat stres, maka semakin tinggi tingkat keparahan AV. Kata kunci: Akne Vulgaris, Stres, Mahasiswa. / Background: Acne Vulgaris (AV) is included in inflammatory diseases that occur in the sebaceous glands and cause AV. Many factors can affect AV, including one of stress. Medical students have high levels of stress due to academic stress. So, researchers were interested in researching the effect of stress levels on the severity of AV in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Aim: Looking at the relationship between stress levels and the severity of AV in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Methodology: This study uses cross sectional study with consecutive sampling technique to take samples from students of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Data retrieval has been conducted in March-June 2021 by filling out the PSS (Perceived Stress Scale) questionnaire, and IGA (Investigator's Global Assessment) of acne severity, as well as IGA visia to diagnose Akne Vulgaris. Analyze data using Chi-square test with SPSS 28.0 program. Result: In this study, the most av severity was severe AV (31.5%), and the most stress level was moderate stress (83.1%). Thus, there is a relationship between stress levels and AV severity (p-value: 0.012, Odds Ratio: 9.659). Conclusion: The higher the stress level, the higher the severity of AV.
