Abstract
Perkembangan karakter sama pentingnya dengan aspek perkembangan lainnya pada anak-anak. Pendidikan olahraga memiliki peran dalam pembentukan karakter, tetapi banyak orang hanya menghubungkan olahraga dengan kegiatan fisik semata. Oleh karena itu, peneliti terinspirasi untuk melihat hubungan penerapan latihan passing dalam kegiatan elective bola basket terhadap perkembangan rasa tanggung jawab, kemampuan kerjasama, dan kejujuran siswa kelas 2 SD Sekolah XYZ. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menganalisis perkembangan rasa tanggung jawab siswa; (2) mengidentifikasikan perkembangan sikap kerjasama siswa; (3) menganalisis kejujuran siswa; (4) menggambarkan hambatan selama proses penerapan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dalam bentuk one group pretest and posttest design dengan subjek penelitian 15 siswa kelas 2 SD yang tergabung dalam elective basket. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuesioner dan observasi. Data dianalisis melalui statistik deskriptif dan N-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan:(1) terjadi peningkatan rasa tanggung jawab siswa pada tingkat sedang (N-gain: 0.51); (2) terjadi peningkatan sikap kerjasama siswa pada tingkat sedang (N-gain: 0.517); (3) terjadi peningkatan sikap jujr siswa pada tingkat sedang (N-gain: 0.42); (4) hambatan yang dialami peneliti adalah cuaca, bahasa, fasilitas sekolah, kegiatan sekolah, absensi siswa, kesehatan peneliti, dan minat siswa / Character development on young students takes a crucial part in all aspects of development. Sport education is indeed benefit to build character. Yet, many people associate sport merely with physical activities. Concerning with this issue, the researcher takes action by conducting a study about the impact of passing activity in basketball elective on the development of grade 2 students’ responsibility, cooperative skill, and honesty. This study aimed to: (1) analyze the students’ initial responsibility, cooperative skill, and honesty; (2) analyze the students’ progress in responsibility; (3) analyze the students’ progress in cooperative skill; (4) analyze the students’ progress in honesty; (5) identify the obstacles during the implementation process. This study carried out a quasi experiment with one group pretest and posttest design. The research subjects were 15 students. Data were collected by using questioner and observation, and then analyzed with descriptive statistic and N-gain. The results showed: (1) students need time to develop responsibility, cooperative skill, and honesty; (2) there is an improvement of students’ responsibility with N-gain of 0.51; (3) there is an improvement of students’ cooperative skill with N-gain of 0.51; (4) there is an improvement of students’ honesty with N-gain of 0.42; (5) the obstacles included weather, language, facility, and health
