Abstract
Latar Belakang

Introduction
One of the causes of depression in SLE patients is obesity, there are two factors, namely limitation of functionality and side effects of glucocorticoid therapy. Obesity in SLE patients can certainly increase risk factors such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Therefore, if obesity in SLE patients is overcome, it can improve the patient's mental and physical health.
Aim
To determine whether there is a correlation between BMI levels and depression in female patients with SLE.
Method
This research was conducted using a correlation analytic study design. This research required 27 female patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and was selected using simple random sampling technique.
Result
In this study, 30 samples were collected that met the inclusion criteria. The majority of respondents who filled out the questionnaire, as many as 20 respondents had a normal BMI and the results of the Beck Depression Inventory – II were classified as reasonable. Spearman's analysis method obtained a non-significant correlation between BMI and the incidence of depression in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (p value = 0.297).
Conclusion
There was no significant relationship between BMI and the incidence of depression in female patients with systemic lupus erythematosus.
