Abstract

Christian education aims to restore human relationships with each other as well as with God which certainly requires more than just learning the content. Therefore, it is necessary for Christian schools to have the Bible as the foundation of every learning activity. One of the ways is by integrating Biblical Christian worldview as curriculum emphasis in each class. Therefore, this paper aims to discuss the reason why there is lack of Biblical Christian worldview, the ways to integrate it in the classroom and the possible challenges that teachers will face when integrating it. The researcher uses qualitative research and literature review supported by the data from online teaching practicum at one Christian school in Yogyakarta. The research results show that lack of Biblical Christian worldview existed because of dualism, various religions of the students, and teacher’s limited understanding. The possible ways to integrate Biblical Christian worldview are using the Christian framework in the lesson plan and maximizing the use of essential questions and enduring understanding in every unit. There are also three challenges faced by teachers which are the various religions of the students, the limited time of online learning, and the limited ways to check students’ understanding. Therefore, the researcher suggests the school conduct trainings and future researchers collect data directly from students to determine student perceptions and understanding about the integration.
