Abstract
Minat belajar penting dimiliki oleh siswa. Hal ini karena minat belajar dalam diri siswa akan menentukan sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran. Berdasarkan fakta yang ditemukan penulis pada saat melaksanakan Program Pengalaman Lapangan 2 adalah minat belajar siswa kelas X di salah satu sekolah Kristen di Yogyakarta masih rendah. Hal ini terlihat melalui sikap siswa yang pasif dan tidak bertanggung jawab terhadap tugas. Guru Kristen memiliki peran sebagai penuntun, yaitu membimbing ke arah kebenaran. Dalam hal ini, pemberian motivasi oleh guru akan mempengaruhi meningkatnya minat belajar siswa. Tujuan penulisan adalah untuk memaparkan bahwa memberikan motivasi kepada siswa dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Kesimpulan dari penulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan memberikan motivasi, maka minat belajar siswa meningkat. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dari keaktifan siswa dan juga pengerjaan tugas yang sudah bertanggung jawab. Saran yang dapat disampaikan melalui penelitian ini adalah guru Kristen harus selalu memberi motivasi kepada siswa, supaya siswa selalu memiliki minat belajar yang tinggi./Learning interests is important for students to have. This is because students learning interest will determine student’s attitudes towards learning. Based on the facts found by the author during Field Experience Practicum II stated that learning interests of class X students at a of the Christian schools in Yogyakarta is low. This can be seen through passive and irresponsible attitude of students towards assignments. Christian teachers have a role as a guide, which is to guide students towards the truth. In this case, giving motivation by the teacher will affect to the increasing students learning interests. The purpose of the writing is to describe whether providing motivation to students can increase students learning interests. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The conclusion of this paper shows that by providing motivation, students' learning interests is increasing. This is seen from the activeness of students and also responsibility in completing assignment given. Suggestion that can be conveyed in this research is that Christian teachers should always motivate students, so that students always have a high learning interests.
