Domestic workers, as informal sector workers, often neglected and hidden from the society as they are also have been long ignored by the government and lawmakers. Domestic workers have to perform their work within the house of the employer, and the relation between the domestic workers and the employer usually based on kinship relation, obscuring the relation of work between them. As the result, they worked for unlimited work hour, low rate of wage, and lack of protection. The Law of Employment in Indonesia does not cover domestic workers, as they are not categorized as formal sector workers. The only regulation that gives legal protection for domestic workers, including wage and work hour, is Ministry of Labor Regulation No. 2 year 2015 for Domestics Workers Protection. But the regulation itself does not give a strong protection to regulate about domestic worker wage and work hour and so far from the international standard. While other countries have successfully give legal protection for their domestic workers, Indonesia government still struggling to compose a domestic worker protection act. Therefore, this research reviewed about regulation to regulate the wage and work hour of domestic workers in Indonesia based on the international standard goals. At the end suggestions will be made to discover the ideal regulations to cover the protection of wage and work hour for domestic workers.
