Abstract

Era reformasi 1998 memberikan dampak besar pada kebebasan pers di Indonesia. Kesempatan ini dimanfaatkan secara maksimal oleh masyarakat, tidak terkecuali kalangan Islam konservatif, untuk mendirikan media cetak maupun online. Banyak bermunculan media online berhaluan Islam konservatif yang menebar isu jihad, bid’ah, khilafah islamiyah, kafir, perang dan intoleransi. Wacana keislaman di media online dikuasai oleh mereka. Melihat realitas ini, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) mengembangkan dan mengkampanyekan wacana Islam moderat. Salah satu salurannya melalui media online NU Online, situs resmi Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU). Penelitian ini ingin mengetahui bagaimana Islam moderat dimaknai oleh NU Online. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif dengan metode penelitian analisis wacana kritis Teun A. van Dijk yang meliputi analisa pada teks, kognisi sosial dan konteks. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara, studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: pertama, pemberitaan NU Online terhadap Islam moderat dimaknai sebagai ideologi karena NU yang berpaham ahlussunnah wal-jamaah sejatinya Islam moderat. Kedua, wacana Islam moderat pada NU Online juga merupakan counter wacana terhadap merebaknya wacana paham Islam konservatif. / The 1998 reform era had a major impact on press freedom in Indonesia. This opportunity is utilized optimally by the community, including conservative Muslims, to establish print and online media. Many online media with conservative Islamic orientation have emerged that spread issues of jihad, heresy, Islamic caliphate, infidelity, war and intolerance. Islamic discourse in online media is controlled by them. Seeing this reality, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) developed and campaigned for a moderate Islamic discourse. One of the channels is through the online media NU Online, the official website of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU). This study wants to know how moderate Islam is interpreted by NU Online. The approach used in this research is qualitative with the research method of critical discourse analysis by Teun A. van Dijk which includes analysis of text, social cognition and context. Data was collected by means of interviews, literature study and documentation. The results of this study show: first, NU Online reporting on moderate Islam is interpreted as an ideology because NU which understands ahlussunnah wal-jamaah is actually moderate Islam. Second, the moderate Islamic discourse at NU Online is also a counter discourse to the spread of conservative Islamic discourse.
