Abstract

Proses globalisasi menyebabkan adanya kemajuan bidang teknologi komunikasi sehingga menyebabkan adanya pertukaran budaya yang cepat. Budaya Popular Kpop sebagai bagian dari Korean wave merupakan hasil dari pertukaran budaya melalui kanal Youtube. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui imperialism budaya konten Kpop melalui platform Yotube pada pemuda di Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunkan metode kualitatif dengan paradigm kritis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam. Sebanyak empat informan penggemar musik Kpop yang sering menonton di kanal Youtube. Dari analisis data, teridentifikasi adanya peran perusahaan management artist akan kepopuleran Kpop hingga saat ini. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa seluruh informan melakukan kesadaran palsu baik secara ekonomi maupun ideology dari konten Kpop di kanal Youtube. / The process of globalization has brought advances in the field of communication technology, resulting in rapid cultural exchange. Popular Culture of Kpop that as part of the Korean wave is the result of cultural exchange through the Youtube channel. This research was conducted to find out the cultural imperialism of Kpop content through the Yotube platform for young people in Jakarta. This study uses a qualitative method with a critical paradigm. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews. As many as four informants of Kpop music fans who often watch on the Youtube channel. From the data analysis, it was identified the role of artist management companies in the popularity of Kpop to date. The results of the study revealed that all informants carried out false awareness both economically and ideologically towards Kpop content on the Youtube channel.
