Abstract

Leadership and management are two sorts of roles that are heavily reliant on communication to run as well as possible, and that is what the intern set out to learn and experience when they took the position of social media administrator while also assisting the general manager in his daily work. With the help of various communication theories that revolve around organisational processes as well as the communicative aspect of leadership and management, the intern sought to analyse how these theories apply to real-life application in a workplace, specifically the office of WebTV Asia in Jatinegara, a mass media company that focuses on various social media and follows their various trends to amass an audience. The intern learned a lot in their time in PT WebTV Asia, with careful cross-examination of the practises employed in the office and discovered that there is the commonality of miscommunication and inefficient procedures laid into the foundation of how the higher-ups handle interpersonal communication with their employees and the intern has also learned a lot regarding communicative practises in leadership roles and how to manage them efficiently. / Kepemimpinan dan manajemen adalah dua jenis peran yang sangat bergantung pada komunikasi agar berjalan dengan baik, dan itulah yang dipelajari dan dialami oleh pemagang ketika mereka mengambil posisi sebagai administrator media sosial, juga membantu manajer umum dalam melakukan pekerjaannya. Dengan bantuan berbagai teori komunikasi yang berkisar pada proses organisasi serta aspek komunikatif kepemimpinan dan manajemen, pemagang berusaha menganalisa bagaimana teori-teori ini berlaku untuk aplikasi kehidupan nyata di tempat kerja, khususnya kantor WebTV Asia Indonesia di Jatinegara, sebuah perusahaan media massa yang berfokus pada berbagai media sosial dan mereka mengikuti berbagai tren untuk mengumpulkan audiens. Pemagang belajar banyak hal selama praktik kerja di PT WebTV Asia Indonesia, dengan pemeriksaan silang yang cermat terhadap praktik yang diterapkan di kantor dan menemukan bahwa ada kesamaan miskomunikasi dan prosedur yang tidak efisien yang menjadi dasar bagaimana atasan menangani komunikasi antarpribadi dengan karyawan mereka dan pekerja magang juga telah mempelajari banyak hal tentang praktik komunikatif dalam peran kepemimpinan dan bagaimana mengelolanya secara efisien.
