Abstract
Di Indonesia terdapat banyak kota yang memiliki tempat-tempat wisata yang bisa dijadikan sebagai salah satu tempat tujuan wisata, salah satunya adalah kota Makassar. Makassar merupakan ibukota dari provinsi Sulawesi Selatan dan merupakan kota terbesar di pulau Sulawesi yang sudah berkembang menjadi kota Metropolis. Makassar sangat berpotensi untuk dijadikan tempat tujuan wisata karena banyaknya objek wisata yang bisa dikunjungi, mulai dari wisata bahari, kuliner, budaya serta tempat-tempat sejarah. Usaha pemerintah dalam mempromosikan Makassar melalui Visit Makassar 2011 sudah mulai terlihat namun masih belum menyebar hingga ke daerah-daerah lain di nusantara. Selain itu media promosi yang telah ada tidak mengandung unsur estetika sehingga kurang membujuk calon wisatawan untuk datang ke kota Makassar. Dengan adanya promosi yang menggunakan tampilan baru pada Visit Makassar 2012, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan wisatawan untuk berkunjung ke Makassar baik wisatawan nusantara maupun internasional./ In Indonesia there are many cities that have tourist attractions that can becomes a tourist destination, one of them is the city of Makasar. Makassar is the capital city of South Sulawesi province and it was the largest city on the island of Sulawesi. It has transformed into a metropolis city. Makassar is a city that have a potential to become a tourist destination because it have many attractions that can be visit there, such as nautical tourism, culinary, cultural and historical places. Government’s effort in promoting Makassar through Visit Makassar 2011 have been seen but not yet spread to other areas in Indonesia. In addition the media campaign that already made before does not contain aesthetic elements to persuade the tourist to come to Makassar. Expected by the new look of Visit Makassar can increase the tourists to visit Makassar either from domestic or interntional tourists.
