Abstract

Responsibility and discipline are important characters to be applied and taught to students from an early age. This is important to build children's independence in the future. In this study, a role play method will be applied which aims to improve the character of responsibility and discipline in students aged 5-6 years. This research was conducted online using the Classroom Action Research method with a total of three cycles, each cycle consists of three meetings. The subjects of this research are several students from Gita Bangsa School in the age range of 5-6 years. Data was collected using data triangulation, namely field notes, assessment rubrics and student performance results. The assessment was carried out by three observers, the researcher herself and two observers. The results of this study found that (1) role playing method can increase the responsibility of students; (2) role playing method can improve student discipline; (3) role playing method gets a good response from students and parents. / Tanggung jawab dan disiplin merupakan salah satu karakter penting untuk diterapkan dan diajarkan kepada peserta didik sedari dini. Hal ini penting untuk membangun kemandirian anak di masa yang akan datang. Pada penelitian kali ini akan diterapkan metode bermain peran yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan karakter tanggung jawab dan disiplin pada peserta didik usia 5 – 6 tahun. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara daring menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan total tiga siklus yang masing-masing siklusnya terdiri dari tiga kali pertemuan. Subjek penelitian ini adalah beberapa peserta didik dari Sekolah Gita Bangsa dalam rentang usia 5 – 6 tahun. Pengumpulan data menggunakan triangulasi data yaitu catatan pengamatan, rubrik penilaian serta hasil unjuk kerja siswa. Penilaian dilakukan oleh tiga pengamat yaitu peneliti sendiri dan dua orang pengamat. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa (1) metode bermain peran dapat meningkatkan tanggung jawab peserta didik; (2) metode bermain peran dapat meningkatkan disiplin peserta didik; (3) metode bermain peran mendapatkan respon yang baik dari peserta didik dan orang tua.
