Abstract

Film adalah salah satu media yang mampu menghibur para penontonnya. Beragamnya genre sebuah film, mampu mempengaruhi minat penonton untuk menyaksikannya. Genre drama keluarga adalah salah satu film yang paling banyak minatnya di Indonesia, salah satunya film yang berjudul Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens. Film ini bercerita tentang satu keluarga yang tercerai berai karena masalah ekonomi. Lalu, sang ibu meninggalkan keluarganya ke luar negri. Di sana, ia bekerja sebagai barista dan penyanyi di sebuah café. Dari hasil kerjanya tersebut, ia membelikan tiket pesawat untuk suami dan anaknya supaya mereka bisa berkumpul di New York. Tetapi impian ibu tersebut tidak sesuai dengan harapan. Karena, suaminya menolak untuk menyusulinya dan suaminya juga menyuruh istrinya untuk kembali ke Indonesia. Akhirnya sang suami dan istri tersebut putus hubungan dan bercerai. Lalu, sang anak tetap mencari sosok seorang ibu yang di dambakannya, lalu ia menyusuli ibunya seorang diri. Sesampainya di New York ia tidak berhasil mendapatkan kasih sayang dari ibunya. Bahkan, kehadiran sang anak tidak diharapkan oleh ibunya karena ia sudah mempunyai keluarga baru. Tetapi selama di New York anak tersebut mendapatkan kasih sayang dari sekelompok komunitas ibu ibu WNI yaitu ratu ratu. Maka film ini akan sangat menarik jika dikaitkan dengan teori Critical Discourse Analysis milik Sara Mills. / Film is a medium that can entertain the audience. The variety of genres of a film, is able to influence the interest of the audience to watch it. The family drama genre is one of the films with the most interest in Indonesia, one of which is the film entitled Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens. This film tells the story of a family that is torn apart due to economic problems. Then, the mother left her family abroad. There, she worked as a barista and singer in a café. From her income, she buys plane tickets for her husband and children in the hope that they can gather in New York. But the mother's dream did not match expectations. Because, her husband refused to follow her and her husband also told his wife to return to Indonesia. In the end, the husband and wife broke up and divorced. Then, the child continues to look for the figure of a mother he longs for, then he follows his mother alone. Arriving in New York he did not succeed in getting the affection of his mother. In fact, his presence was not expected by his mother because he already had a new family. But while in New York the child received the love of the Indonesian mother community, namely the queen queen. So this film will be very interesting if it is associated with Sara Mills' Critical Discourse Analysis theory.
