Due to the rise in the implementation of sharing economy concept (e.g Airbnb) in businesses nowadays, especially those of the service industry, the purpose of this research is to identify the impact of Airbnb's introduction to the Indonesian hotel industry. This research is conducted qualitatively, wherein the method of interview and analysis of published data is done to collect detailed information needed regarding the research. The subject of interview of this paper will focus on those of the millennial generations, as they are the known to be the most active users of the home sharing platforms. Interviewees are categorized into four groups, where one is the host of Airbnb, second is the representative of hotel management, third is the users of Airbnb platform, lastly is the hotel guests. On the other hand, in order to analyze further the impact of Airbnb Indonesia, news published online are being gathered to be summarized further. The interview concluded that despite the rise in Airbnb usage in Indonesia among the millennial. some of the millennials still prefer to stay in a traditional hotel room. From the research done, it can be concluded that despite the limited data that can be found online, the Indonesian hotel industry is affected by the introduction of Airbnb and the effect will continue to rise in the near future.
