Abstract

Interior merupakan disiplin ilmu yang sering berhubungan dengan Arsitektur. Hal ini memberikan pertanyaan, dimana dan bagaimana posisi Interior dengan Arsitektur. Apakah Interior baru hadir setelah Arsitektur? atau berjalan beriringan dengan proses Arsitektur? Pada Spatial Sonata, Principal memiliki anggapan bahwa Interior dan Arsitektur saling berhubungan walaupun tidak menganggap adanya area pembagian antara area Interior atau Arsitektur melainkan hanya area Interior (dalam) dan Eksterior (luar). Saat merancang, Principal memiliki cara pandang dari ‘dalam’ ke ‘luar’, dengan argumen bahwa yang akan ditinggali adalah bagian ‘dalam’ bukan ‘luar’. Hal tersebut menandakan bahwa pertimbangan terhadap Interior sudah hadir dan menjadi pertimbangan saat perancangan Arsitektur, sehingga penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mencari pengaruh Interioritas pada proses desain yang dilakukan oleh Spatial Sonata. Merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode etnografis, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami strategi Interioritas yang diterapkan dan menjadi referensi pembelajaran bagi pelajar, praktisi dan masyarakat bahwa Interior tidak terbatas pada ruang dan hadir setelah Arsitektur. Adapun, hasil analisis pada penelitian ini mendapatkan bagaimana Interioritas memberikan pengaruh pada proses desain hingga ditemukan adanya dinamika antara Interior dan Eksterior hingga sampai pada kesimpulan, pada Spatial Sonata, Interioritas bukan hanya sebagai cara pandang melainkan sebuah pendekatan desain yang memiliki strategi dan tolak ukur yang terlihat pengaruhnya pada proses desain yang dijalankan. / As a discipline, Interior is often associated with Architecture. This raises the question, where and how Interior’s position towards Architecture. Does Interior process begin after Architecture? or alongside with the Architectural process? In Spatial Sonata, rather than see Architecture and Interior as different entities, The Principals consider Architecture and Interior should be interconnected hence they do not segregate areas as Architecture and Interior but as Interior (inside) and Exterior (outside) areas. When designing, The Principals have a perspective from 'inside' to 'outside', with the argument that the areas that will be lived is the 'inside' not the 'outside'. This indicates that the consideration of the Interior is present and becomes a careful consideration when designing the Architecture or Architecture’s process. Therefore, this research aims to know the influence of Interiority on the design process done by Spatial Sonata. As qualitative research with ethnographic methods, this research aims to understand the strategy of Interiority that is applied and become as a learning reference for students, practitioners, and others that Interior is not limited by space and comes after Architecture. Meanwhile, the result of the analysis is how Interiority have an influence on the design process and the dynamics between Interior and Exterior up to the conclusion, in Spatial Sonata, Interiority is not only a perspective, but as a design approach that has strategies and parameters that can be seen its influence on the design process.
