Abstract
Topik penelitian ini dimulai dari penulis yang melakukan penelitian dan perancangan SDH Karawang. SDH Karawang berada di bawah naungan YPPH yang dirancang dan akan dibangun di San Diego Hills Memorial Park. Bangunan SDH dilakukan bersamaan dengan fasilitas eksterior dan interior dengan menerapkan keberlanjutan. Fase pembangunan difokuskan pada pembuatan fasilitas untuk TK dan SD dengan konsep desain yang dapat mewadahi sifat eksploratif dan mengembangkan perkembangan kognitif anak. Dalam perancangan SDH Karawang, peneliti menggunakan sistem kerja kolaborasi sebagai strategi dari proses desain yang kreatif. Sistem kerja kolaborasi dilakukan dalam menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang efektif dan tepat. Pada proses analisis penelitian, penulis menggunakan teori metode desain interior yang ditulis oleh Cindy Coleman (2002) dan Pengambilan Keputusan dalam Kolaborasi oleh Martha Kostuch (2014) untuk mengupas lebih lanjut efektivitas proses desain kolaboratif yang dilakukan. Beberapa metode dan proses ini menjadi acuan dalam merancang dan menjadi pola kegiatan yang baik dalam mendesain. Ada juga permasalahan yang timbul saat proses berlangsung saat desainer berkolaborasi dengan tim yang bersangkutan dalam proses perancangan proyek. Penelitian ini mencoba untuk menunjukkan fakta proses yang digunakan oleh desainer interior, berbagai masalah yang timbul, dan menyimpulkan proses yang paling efektif dan tepat sebagai strategi pembangunan SDH Karawang di masa yang akan datang. / The study is based on the design process of Sekolah Dian Harapan Karawang. SDH is a school under Yayasan Pendidikan Pelita Harapan that is being build in San Diego Hills Memorial Park, West Karawang. Collaborative process is being used as a strategy of SDH Karawang creative design process. As a result of design thinking, SDH Karawang is designed to accommodate the exploratory nature and to develop children’s cognitive development from age four to seven. We found that the use of collaborative design process led to better communication and cooperation within the design team for a better commitment to the project. We use literature studies based on Collaborative Design Management (Emmit and Ruikar, 2013) to indicate the effectivity of the design process. This paper argues that the design process should be defined as consisting of four phases of design, based on Cindy Coleman (2002). The problem solving process is identified as an integral part of the design process. We see positive effects from the methodology that we use, but there are still also lacking in some areas. We found that the methodology should lead to a more efficient and controlled design process which in turn would benefit the following construction progress.
