Abstract
Sepeda merupakan salah satu alat transportasi tertua di dunia. Pada abad ke-19 awal, sepeda merupakan alat transportasi yang digunakan untuk menghemat biaya saat terjadinya perang dunia pertama. Kota yang penduduknya memilih untuk menggunakan sepeda dibandingkan dengan kendaraan bermotor adalah Copenhagen. Seiring berjalannya waktu, banyak sekali perkembangan yang terjadi pada bidang sepeda. Bukan hanya sebagai alat transportasi, sekarang sepeda sudah menjadi sebuah lifestyle.
Namun, ada banyak kejadian dimana para pesepeda takut untuk bersepeda disamping kendaraan bermotor. Banyak kecelakaan sepeda yang diakibatkan oleh kendaraan bermotor. Salah satu alasan yang paling sering terdengar yaitu karena pesepeda tersebut tidak terlihat oleh pengendara bermotor.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode desain tehnik, dimana penulis akan melakukan observasi terhadap suatu hal yang nantinya akan menciptakan sebuah produk yang dapat menunjang keselamatan dalam bersepeda.
Hasil dari observasi mengatakan bahwa bersepeda dengan kondisi tidak memiliki penanda dapat sangat membahayakan pesepeda tersebut. Dengan meningkatkan visibilitas sepeda pada malam hari, hal ini diharapkan dapat mengurangi rasa takut serta jumlah kecelakaan pada sepeda yang terjadi di malam hari.
Dengan menciptakan sebuah produk yang dikenakan oleh pesepeda guna untuk meningkatkan visibilitasnya, diharapkan hal ini dapat membuat orang-orang disekelilingnya dapat lebih waspada akan keberadaan pesepeda tersebut/Bicycles are one of the world's oldest modes of transportation. Bicycles were utilized to save money during the First World War in the early nineteenth century. Copenhagen is the city where citizens choose to ride bicycles rather than drive cars.
Many advancements in the realm of bicycles have occurred over time. The bicycle has evolved from a mode of transportation to a way of life.
However, there have been numerous cases in which cyclists have expressed their fear of riding a bicycle alongside a motor vehicle. Motor cars are at blame for a large number of bicycle accidents. One of the most common reasons given is because cyclists are invisible to automobiles.
The research approach employed is a technical design process, in which the author observes something and then develops a device to aid riding safety. According to the findings, cycling without markers can be extremely risky for cyclists.
By making bicycles more visible at night, it is hoped that fear and the rate of nighttime cycling accidents will decrease. It is intended that by developing a product for bikers to wear in order to boost their visibility, others around them will be more aware of their presence.
