Abstract

Work-life balance merupakan sebuah topik kontemporer yang penting untuk dipertimbangkan bagi firma hukum, terutama bagi ibu yang bekerja sebagai pengacara. Dengan berbagai peran yang dilakukannya, peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti bagaimana ibu yang bekerja memaknai work-life balance. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan makna dari work-life balance oleh ibu yang bekerja sebagai pengacara di firma hukum Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dan menggunakan konsep fenomenologi. Dalam mengumpulkan data yang diperlukan, peneliti menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam dan studi kepustakaan. Data-data tersebut kemudian diuji keabsahannya menggunakan ketelitian dan referensi untuk dianalisis. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa work-life balance tidak dimaknai oleh ibu yang bekerja dengan definisi yang sesungguhnya, akan tetapi dengan waktu yang berkualitas dengan keluarga, keteraturan waktu, dan juga menyempatkan waktu bersama keluarga di tengah-tengah bekerja./ Work-life balance is an important contemporary topic to consider for law firms, especially for mothers who work as lawyers. With the various roles that she performs, researcher is interested in examining how working mothers interpret work-life balance. The purpose of this study is to find out and explain the meaning of work-life balance by mothers who work as lawyers at Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung law firm. This research is qualitative research and uses the concept of phenomenology. In collecting the necessary data, the researcher used in-depth interview techniques and literature study. The data is then tested for validity using accuracy and references for analysis. The results of this study indicate that work-life balance is not interpreted by working mothers by the true definition, but with quality time with family, regular time, and spending time with family during work.
