Abstract
Latar Belakang: Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan di Britania Raya ditemukan bahwa orang yang merasakan kesepian mengalami depresi sebanyak 40% dan risiko untuk mengalami kesepian selama masa pandemi COVID-19 telah meningkat sebanyak 4.5 kali lipat. Adanya keterbatasan untuk melakukan interaksi sosial dapat memicu munculnya kesepian terhadap seseorang, yang apabila dirasakan terlalu lama dapat
menimbulkan depresi. Kesepian dan depresi merupakan dua hal yang berbeda akan tetapi memiliki sebuah kesamaan, kedua hal ini menunjukkan korelasi yang negatif yang nantinya dapat membuat orang-orang untuk merasakan sesuatu yang tidak nyaman di dalam dirinya.Tujuan Penelitian:Untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat kesepian dan depresi pada mahasiswa/i preklinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2019/2020 sampai 2021/2022 akibat pandemi COVID-19.Hasil:
Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat kesepian dengan terjadinya depresi pada mahasiswa/i pre-klinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Dari 106 responden terdapat 98 orang yang merasakan kesepian selama
masa pandemi, 61 orang yang merasakan depresi selama masa pandemi, dan 60 orang yang merasakan kesepian dan depresi selama masa pandemi. Dengan risiko untuk seseorang mengalami depresi setelah merasakan kesepian adalah sebesar 92%, nilai p value 0.01, dan odd ratio 11.052 (CI: 1.308 – 93.410).
Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pontong lintang terhadap 106 responden mahasiswa/i pre-klinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan yang telah memenuhi kriteria penelitian. Kata Kunci: Tingkat kesepian, depresi, pandemi COVID-19/ Background: Based on research done in United Kingdom, 40% of people who felt lonely also had
depression. The risk of getting lonely during the pandemic increased 4.5 times higher than before. The limitation to interact socially can trigger people to feel lonely and unfortunately will become depressed. Loneliness and depression are two different things but something in common is that both of them show a negative correlation that will make people feel uncomfortable than usual. Objective: To find out whether there is a relation between loneliness and depression in preclinic students of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Results: There is a relationship between loneliness and depression in pre-clinic students of
the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. From 106 respondents there are 98 people who felt lonely during the pandemic, 61 people who depressed during the pandemic, and 60 people who felt lonely and depressed during the pandemic.
With the risk for someone to get depression because of loneliness is 92%, p value 0.01, and odd ratio 11.052 (CI: 1.308 – 93.410). Methods: This research will use cross-sectional method towards 106 respondents at the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University that still in pre-clinic and fulfils the research criteria.
