Abstract
Keberhasilan perusahaan untuk mampu bertahan dan bersaing dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya adalah peran sumber daya manusia yang dianggap sebagai aset paling penting dan berharga yang dimiliki oleh perusahaan. Perusahaan harus dapat memberikan perhatian utama pada para karyawan untuk menciptakan keterikatan antara karyawan dengan perusahaan, Penulis ingin meneliti apakah salah satu faktor dari keterikatan karyawan, yaitu sistem reward dan punishment yang ada dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan kinerja. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan rasa keingintahuan terhadap faktor situasional tertentu yang terjadi di perusahaan BCA yang telah berdiri sejak tahun 1957 dan saat ini telah mempekerjakan lebih dari 20.000 karyawan yang didominasi oleh pekerja yang memiliki masa kerja dalam jangka waktu yang cukup lama walaupun telah menghadapi persaingan ketat dan perubahan industri perbankan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah reward dan punishment memiliki pengaruh terhadap motivasi kerja karyawan BCA, sehingga membawa kepada terbangunnya komitmen organisasi dan keterikatan antara perusahaan dan karyawan. Diharapkan penelitian ini nantinya dapat berkontribusi membantu PT Bank Central Asia, Tbk. maupun perusahaan lain di industri yang sama atau yang berbeda untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan usahanya yang didukung oleh keterikatan karyawan yang kuat dengan organisasi. Penulis menggunakan metode pengumpulan data dengan penyebaran kuesioner tentang sikap dan pendapat yang akan diukur dengan skala Likert, juga melakukan observasi secara langsung maupun tidak langsung dalam bentuk field notes. / The company's success in being able to survive and compete is influenced by several factors, one of which is the role of human resources which is considered the most important and valuable asset owned by the company. Companies should be able to give the main attention to employees to create an attachment between employees and the company. The author wants to examine whether one of the factors of employee engagement, namely the existing reward and punishment system can increase motivation and performance. This research was conducted based on curiosity about certain situational factors that occurred in the BCA company, which was established in 1957 and currently employs more than 20,000 employees, which are dominated by workers who have worked for a long period of time despite facing intense competition and competition. banking industry changes. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether rewards and punishments have an influence on the work motivation of BCA employees, thus leading to the establishment of organizational commitment and engagement between the company and employees. It is hoped that this research can later contribute to helping PT Bank Central Asia, Tbk. as well as other companies in the same or different industries to increase their business growth supported by strong employee engagement with the organization. The author uses the method of data collection by distributing questionnaires about attitudes and opinions that will be measured with a Likert scale, also making direct and indirect observations in the form of field notes.
