Abstract

Dispepsia memiliki berbagai faktor risiko mulai dari jenis kelamin, usia, asupan makanan, alkohol, penggunaan obat anti-inflamasi non-steroid (OAINS), stres, tingkat pendidikan, maupun keadaan sosial ekonomi. Kata kunci: dispepsia yang belum diinvestigasi, aktivitas fisik, mahasiswa /Background: Dyspepsia is a common symptom globally and affects a large proportion of the population. Dyspepsia has various risk factors ranging from gender, age, food intake, alcohol, use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), stress, education level, and socioeconomic conditions. Several studies have proven that there is a relationship between the level of physical activity and dyspepsia which indicates the possibility of physical activity being one of the risk factors for dyspepsia. Although physical activity seems promising as a non-pharmacological intervention for dyspepsia, these studies suggest that further research is needed to strengthen the relationship between these two variables. Therefore, this research was conducted with a more homogeneous research sample, namely the pre-clinical student population group of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University. Aim of study: To know the relationship between level of physical activity and uninvestigated dyspepsia in pre-clinic students of Universitas Pelita Harapan Faculty of Medicine. Method: This study uses unpaired categorical analytic comparative method with a cross sectional study design. The sample was pre-clinical students of the Faculty of Medicine, Pelita Harapan University with a minimum of 266 respondents who were selected using a non-probability convenience sampling technique. Data were obtained using the IPAQ short form and SF-LDQ questionnaires, and were analysed using the chi square method or fisher's test. Result: Through analysis conducted on 282 samples that met the criteria, it was found that the relationship could not be proven significant with a p-value of 0.313 (p-value > 0.05). In addition, the percentage of women suffering from dyspepsia (30.9%) was greater than the percentage of men (22.7%) in this study (p-value = 0.229, could not be proven significant). Conclusion: Research on the relationship between physical activity and dyspepsia that has not been investigated in pre-clinical students of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Pelita Harapan, found that the relationship could not be proven significant. Keywords: uninvestigated dyspepsia, physical activity, student
