Abstract

Professional Learning Community (PLC) is a form of collaboration between teachers in schools, parents, and the community in forming a learning community with focus on vision and mission including results orientation. A leadership strategy is needed to improve the quality of human resources and a culture of collaboration through PLC. Schools as a community become a shared mission in expanding children at the Mangunan Experimental Kindergarten in Yogyakarta. This school has unique, especially in project-based learning, a culture of collaboration, diversity and independence education. This research is a qualitative research with three research objectives. First, knowing the PLC practice in this school. Second, identify leadership strategies through school principals in forming a culture of collaboration. Third, identify the teacher's role in collaborating and running the PLC. The research subjects consisted of 1 principal and 8 teachers. The interview method was conducted in a structured and semi-structured manner in schools. The results of the study show that the PLC in this school has a peculiarity in learning, namely forming an EKI climate (explorative – creative – integral), a culture of collaboration has been lived by all school members from across levels including foundations. The principal's leadership strategy uses dialogical communication starting from evaluation, reflection, discussion, planning and decision making. Guru Mangunan is a teacher who knows children, prioritizes collaboration, appreciation, exploration in developing children and creating students who have a heart. / Professional Learning Community (PLC) merupakan bentuk kolaborasi para guru, orangtua, masyarakat dalam membentuk komunitas pemelajar dengan memperhatikan kesamaan visi misi termasuk orientasi hasil. Strategi kepemimpinan dibutuhkan dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia dan budaya kolaborasi melalui PLC. Sekolah sebagai masyarakat menjadi sebuah misi bersama dalam memekarkan diri anak di TK Eksperimental Mangunan Yogyakarta. Sekolah ini memiliki kekhasan terutama dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek, budaya kolaborasi, keberagaman dan pendidikan kemerdekaan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan tiga tujuan penelitian. Pertama, praktik PLC secara umum di sekolah ini. Kedua, strategi kepemimpinan melalui kepala sekolah dalam membentuk budaya kolaborasi. Ketiga, peran guru dalam berkolaborasi dan menjalankan PLC. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 1 orang kepala sekolah dan 8 orang guru. Metode wawancara dilakukan secara terstruktur dan semi terstruktur di sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PLC di sekolah ini memiliki kekhasan dalam pembelajaran yaitu membentuk iklim EKI (eksploratif – kreatif – integral), budaya kolaborasi sudah dihidupi oleh seluruh warga sekolah dari lintas jenjang termasuk yayasan. Strategi kepemimpinan kepala sekolah menggunakan komunikasi dialogis dimulai dari evaluasi, refleksi, diskusi, perencanaan dan pengambilan keputusan. Guru Mangunan adalah guru yang mengenal anak, mengedepankan kolaborasi, apresiasi, eksplorasi dalam memekarkan diri anak dan mewujudkan pemelajar yang punya hati.
