Abstract
Effective learning is obtained if the teacher and students’ interaction run properly. Both teacher and students should involve actively. The fall into sin made they no longer fit the original design. Facts in the field show the characteristics of students who are inactive in learning. The students do not ask questions to the teacher, students also do not express their opinions about the material being taught, and students also find it is difficult to carry out tasks in groups. Teacher who is representative of God have a duty to bring students back to God’s design. The purpose of this paper is to examine students’ activeness in thematic learning through audiovisual learning media. There are five focuses which are audiovisual learning media, the benefits and functions of audiovisual learning media, thematic learning, students’ activeness, and students’ characteristics. The finding of this paper is audiovisual learning media enhance students’ activeness because this media appropriate with students’ characteristic. The suggestions are the teacher should use audiovisual learning media in teaching process. For further research, it is recommended to use more varied instruments and extend the duration of the study.
