Abstract
High employee retention rate is very important for the company to progress and develop. High employee retention means that companies can allocate their resources to places that require these resources more. Companies that pay less attention to regulations and policies can cause employees to choose to resign from the company which causes the loss of key figures or important employees who are competent and can advance the company.
The purpose of this study is to determine how motivation and compensation affect employee retention. The data collection in this study will be carried out using a simple random sampling technique. The number of samples selected are as many as 30 employees at PT. Valbury Asia Futures Medan and data will be obtained by using analysis of validity, reliability, classical assumptions, coefficient of determination, T test and F test.
Based on the results of the study, the coefficient of determination shows that 48% of Motivation and Compensation affect Employee Retention. The results of data analysis show: (1) Motivation partially has a positive and significant effect on employee retention at PT. Valbury Asia Futures Medan. (2) Compensation partially has a positive and significant effect on employee retention at PT. Valbury Asia Futures Medan. (3) Motivation and compensation simultaneously have an effect on employee retention at PT. Valbury Asia Futures Medan./ Tingginya tingkat retensi karyawan sangatlah penting bagi perusahaan untuk maju dan berkembang. Retensi karyawan yang tinggi berarti perusahaan bisa mengalokasikan SDA ketempat yang lebih memerlukan sumber daya tersebut. Perusahaan yang kurang memperhatikan peraturan dan kebijakan dapat menyebabkan karyawan memilih untuk mengundurkan diri dari perusahaan yang menyebabkan hilangnya key figure atau karyawan – karyawan penting yang berkompeten dan dapat memajukan perusahaan.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana motivasi dan kompensasi memberikan pengaruh terhadap Retensi karyawan. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Jumlah sampel yang dipilih sebanyak 30 karyawan di PT. Valbury Asia Futures Medan dan data akan diperoleh dengan menggunakan analisis validitas, reliabilitas, asumsi klasik, koefisien determinasi, uji T dan uji F.
Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian, koefisien determinasi menunjukkan bahwa 48% dari Motivasi dan Kompensasi mempengaruhi Retensi Karyawan. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan: (1) Motivasi secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap retensi karyawan pada PT. Valbury Asia Futures Medan. (2) Kompensasi secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap retensi karyawan pada PT. Valbury Asia Futures Medan. (3) Motivasi dan Kompensasi secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap retensi karyawan di PT. Valbury Asia Futures Medan.
