Abstract

This paper describes students’ difficulties the factors in students’ writing. The background of this paper is the students face difficulties in writing sentences and they are not interested in writing. Many students think that they are not able to write or produce good sentence writing. The students are also lack of knowledge in grammar, vocabulary, writing skill and it hinders them to write good sentences. The interview results with teacher mentor and the researcher’s teaching reflection show students have difficulties in writing. This paper aims to know the difficulties and the factors of the students in writing. God gave human the ability to think and it is on purpose. God wants human to develop their ability to glorify Him through everything that they do, including their writing. The conclusion is the students encountered difficulties in writing such as writing skill, grammar and structure, lack of vocabulary, and constructive feedback from teachers followed by lack of interest as the factor. This paper gives suggestion for teachers, students, and future studies. For teacher is to have a various methods and strategy in teaching, giving practice, and feedback. For students, this paper suggests them practice and read more outside the classroom.
